Project 2A: Interior Renderings
The objectives of this project is so that students are able to learn the basics of materials, lighting, camera views, and post production tools to produce photorealistic renderings with good compositions and relevant site context. This can be done by editing materials through texturing and UVW mapping. Lighting also plays an important role in this part of the project.
Using bump, reflection, UVW mapping and various other commands, I added materials into my library for the next part of this project.

Then, using various websites, I downloaded 3D models to aid in my interior furnishings and renderings. I shall provide one example of the link below.

Next, I applied 2 more cameras at different parts of my building to highlight the spaces that I want to showcase my interiors. This is done by placing the cameras in the interior spaces.

Next, I either Import and Merge or merely Import my 3D models in, depending on the types of files. Then one by one the furnitures were arranged and added with materials. Lightings(Photometric) were also added as can be seen.

Each Furniture is slowly and carefully placed on a plane so they do not float in the air, and then rotated so that they do not all face the same direction. It is easier for me to see if the materials are floating by using the Wireframe View.

I test rendered a couple of times to get the effect that I want. In the end, I decided that white lighting in the interior did not express what I want, so I changed the lighting colour to orange.

My concrete walls were a bit too bumpy and dull, so I went ahead and downloaded a new concrete texture for my walls, and changed all my concrete texture and applied UVW mapping again. Notice the difference between this screenshot and the previous wall textures.

Before I added in a rug for added texture.
After adding in a red rug, it looks more interesting.

For this living room, I wanted to honour Tadao Ando's minimalist style, hence I used minimal colours to introduce intimacy and coziness into this space. Also in my opinion, the important focus on this space is the sunlight shining through the gap in the ceiling which enhances the spatial aesthetics of this space.

For my second interior renderings I did one of the bedrooms so that I could decorate up to my own creativity, having no restrictions to the design. The same thing was done, placing the cameras and getting the right angle and importing furnitures in.

I then added the lights in, to achieve a warm cozy room. I used fairy lights to decorate a teenage girl's room. Because of the lights, the rendering time increased by a lot.

There was too much exposure on the study desk, so I changed my lighting and it's intensity to achieve a more natural look.

To get the correct exposure I played with the levels and curves to achieve a brighter view with more exaggerated shadows
Added the background in using photoshop to achieve a nicer view within the room

AFTER
Added shadow effects to make it more realistic
Did not use this as my final as it had too much exposure at the end
Added backgrounds and subtle shadows to fit in with the night landscape
Final Interior Scene
Focus on the natural lighting and minimalist character of the scene
