Project 1:
Experiencing Construction
In Architecture, architects not only design but also need to know the details of the construction of a building. In this project, we formed a group of 8 members and were required to conduct a site visit on a developing construction site.
The aim was to gain exposure in real life building construction, develop an understanding of the structural elements in construction and its application in the building industry, and to have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of construction and the practical considerations involved in its process.
The aim was succesfully grasped by all of us and was later translated into the second part of this project, which is to produce a portfolio regarding the construction steps that we experienced on site and in general.

Project 2:
Construction Detail and Specification
This part of the project is in conjunction with Design Studio II for our respective beach house @ Port Dickson. We were to draw the construction details and specifications of our design, giving insight on the jointing system, the superstructure and roof construction details.
From this project I have learnt a lot as I had to research on various structural elements in construction that is most suitable for my building and site context. I also have a better understanding of the construction technologies and methods and construction sequences. It has also aided me in better decision making in the construction of various building types thus far.
